My Thoughts Are A Storm
The scars you bear I wish I could
Die for, only the best do I want
For you, to be happy, the fault is
Mine own which tore us apart
Some days I was screaming inside
Yet I found complete happiness
With you, when you told me my
Apology was not accepted, it was
Like hearing news of an intimate
Suicide, your hate filled mind
Killed me inside, my thoughts
Are a storm, raging memories
Of every fight, every flaw fighting
For attention, yet the savage longing
To fall once more into you comforting
Arms, but who would I be if I
Allowed myself to go back?
The lights of the city dance all around me. In a blur behind me, they become quick visions, splattered into the rest of the night along with the faces of strangers and neon signs. In the crisp night air, every breath becomes a cloud. It's unexpectedly cold for March, but this is the city.
I pull my bicycle to a stop along the curve and lean it against a lamp post. The bulb is flickering above me, illuminating me in some sort of an eery light. I sit down on the corner of the street and cross my legs, my elbows planted on my knees and my face in my hands. A few people pass and look at me oddly. What would somebody be doing sitting in the cold
The earth, she waits for many years
Through the bloodshed and the tears
She's seen the hate and poisoned things
Listens as the death card sings
Waiting for a certain day
A lonely path where flowers lay
Two paths will cross, eyes will lock
Time stands still on true love's clock
Hand in hand, they walk along
They face their fears, love keeps them strong
Finally, they stop and turn
Tears so loud, they streak and burn
A final kiss before they part
Rose red lips, a broken heart
The earth, she breathes an empty sigh
And watches as they say goodbye
She sits there, behind the pane of glass, mocking me with her eyes. I can see her, through the words I write, even through these words, right now. Her long dark hair, her dusky skin, the brilliantly white teeth standing out from full, sensuous lips, and, finally, the deep wells of her eyes, endless depths concealed in the orange-brown iris.
Her lips form the words, almost as if she mirrors my thoughts; save me. I know that if I heed her, if I give in to my instincts, the world will be a different place; mere people, those ghosts I see around me every day, would be transient, flat, two-dimensional, while she would solidify, grow, become

Your Hand In Mine
The meadow whispers a hushed sigh
Caressed by a gentle breeze dancing by
Blades of grass shiver then rest
Rise and fall like a dreamer's chest
The hum of crickets singing their song
A night of peace that won't last long
There we lay, alone with our love
Stars from heaven hang just above
Your lips so soft, brushing my skin
Its feathery touch makes my head spin
I look into your eyes, deep as the sea
You hold my gaze as you smile at me
The beauty of our love made us appear to shine
We'll always have each other, your hand in mine

An excerpt from a tape recording of Martin Stevens' interview with Dr. Henry Wurzbach.
1/20/89 9:00 A.M.
"How are you doing today, Martin?" Doctor Wurzbach's voice entered through the static.
"Good," Martin replied.
"If you do not mind Martin, I would like to go ahead and ask about the first time you discovered your ability," Doctor Wurzbach said with his deep calm voice.
"Sure. Like I said before, it all just kind of happened. Well, I was out with my friends. We were walking home from practice and we got to the bridge across from the park. Michael jumped on the stone wall on one side of the
You told me I was the only one
You used to be my immortal, my tourniquet
An imaginary anchor to hold on to
While I'm being crushed by the weight of the world
I am now haunted by your once gentle voice
Missing is the love I once had for you
But I shall not lose control like you did
No longer your star, but your sweet sacrifice
The lithium carries me farther away
Until I breathe no more
In my last breath I shall whisper softly
That I was good enough for you
While the doctors try to bring me to life
You hold my hand, look at me with dry eyes
And call me your snow white queen
The fire so radiant, it crackles and hisses
As the old lady tells of a time that she misses
"Listen, my dears," she says in a hush
"I'll tell you of when there was never a rush
For there once was a time when kings ruled the land
When the minstrels played songs in their small merry bands
When dragons and knights battled for love of the princess
Singing sweet songs in her pink frilly dress
By night the stars shone so bright in the sky
No electric lights to help you get by
As soon as the sun sank under the ground
The very earth itself dare not make a sound
'Twas the time when stories of elders were told
Legends and tales of the hero
My heart is broken, beaten and battered
Shattered like the most delicate of glass roses
It lies next to you in your bleak and desolate grave
The solemn hole you fell into when you took your final breath
Our life was sound, our love pure
Then we watched our walls come crashing down
As fate intervened in the form of reality
We heard the death clock's chilling chime
I'm left forlorn in this tragic world
I try to live but all in vain
It's not living without you
All that's left are my memories, my illusions, my delusions
The ominous blade, a reassuring friend in which I trust
Glistening with the tears I cry for what could have been
I
See her lying on the hospital bed
Doctors rushing, knowing it's too late
Holds her hand, says he loves her
Flatline ringing in his head
Tears fall, splashing on her lifeless body
Harsh lights, cold, blinding
Driving home, thinking of her
Empty house, lonely silence
Agony, heartwrenching pain
The closet, hidden deep inside
Searching, frantically searching
Grab it, load it, walk to the nightstand
Her smiling face, captured in photograph
Closed eyes, don't think
Next to his head, hands shaking
Deep breath, in, out, in, out
Look at her face one last time
Smile, say they'll be together soon
Pull the trigger, collapse, never to ri

Hello, I see your rules say three total deviations. I'm a bit slow sometimes, does that really mean I can only add the three pieces and that's all you will accept? I'd like to join, however, most of my writings are quite a bit more than that.
